Test Shoot with @sylvannakhalili featuring Krishma Sabbarwal Knitwear

Photography by @bashvue

The Rising Sun x Size Official campaign for Nike.

"This photoshoot takes the concept of objectification and uses the Barbie doll as the object – the same way exploitation of such a cheap attempt at ticking a box for the Asian community showed itself: a small objective. This shoot also discusses immigration, the discrimination Asian immigrants face and how poorly they’re treated amongst people who see them as a ‘lesser than’. Through this photoshoot, we are shown representation of Asians on a much deeper level – the photographer, model and fashion designer all being Asian. We are shown a version of a Barbie doll we aren’t often shown. We are witness to Asian immigrants making a stand against discrimination."
